"During the summer of 1874, A reporter from Toronto and his wife race across United States and back up into Canada, in order to witness an impending confrontation between American Whiskey Traders and Canadian Mounted Police. Along the way the couple encounter a trio of rowdy ex-Confederate marching band members inside an abandoned teepee, a senile blind gold miner who offers cryptic advice, and a half-buried ancient statue bearing the likeness of the Greek god of time, Cronus. Taking refuge inside an abandoned whiskey trading post from the fierce prairie winter, the sculpture haunts the couple, causing the husband to take drastic, tragic action." The film is shot in luscious black and white, and while ostensibly a 'silent' film, it is accompanied by a beautiful piano score was recorded especially for the film. Performances by Anna Horabin, Michael Markowsky, Jesse Powell, Eric Fossi, Chad Keating, Heather Harmon and Samantha Thomas. Written and Directed by Michael Markowsky. The total running time is 28 minutes. |
